You do not need to register to be added to a wait list. However, if you are on a wait list and a class opens, then we ask that you plan to enroll. If you are on a wait list and your circumstances change, so you would no longer be able to attend a class with openings, please let us know. Can I pay the season in full or in bulk? Or do I have to pay monthly? Yes we have many payment options and offer a discount for paying in bulk. *What ages do you take? We take all ages. Our youngest student is 13 months. Exposure to gymnastics and dance are excellent for toddlers. Shirley Temple was just 2 when she began dance. I was in my infancy when my parents began my training. By learning to back handspring and walk simultaneously, I have not ever feared doing my back handspring. Toddlers are the prefect age to tumble and dance. They naturally mimic behavior and movements. They have excellent flexibility and core strength. They also have not developed the fears that most people have about the gymnastics sport. By introducing them young students can overcome any fears they have, and progress in a natural way so the movements are a natural part of their environment and routine. It is our belief that small people are capable of incredible things! One of my favorite examples of young people doing incredible things is found at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3GiqHm5rQA I am sure these two started their training at a very young age. With that being said you are never too old to start! We have classes for all ages (toddler-teen) of dancers and tumblers. We even have adult gymnastics classes! *When do classes start? Classes start once there are enough students enrolled in a class for it to run. Once there are enough students enrolled students are contacted and given start date information. Regular season typically goes from Sept to May. Summer typically start in June and end with an outdoor performance in August. * Is there a discount for siblings? Yes. There is a 10% discount for the second class enrolled in. * What are the registration fees? $25 for the 1st student, and only $10 per additional family member. * When is the first payment required? At registration. Registration is not active until this payment is received. * Do you do a recital or any performances? We do have our students perform. Performing is an excellent way for students to learn life skill that will help them overcome the fear and nervousness that accompanies getting up and presenting in front of a crowd. This is really a life skill, as many times as we enter adulthood we are required to do this in professional settings. The younger students can start dealing with the feelings that accompany performing, the better able they will be to do so when called upon later in life to do so. A couple times a year we have the children present what they have been learning at a Parent's day. Occasionally we may preform at other venues, or participate in parades, depending on opportunity and time of year. Our Parent's days are a fun way for the children to present what they are learning, and to be exposed to what it take to preform. *Do Toddler preform? Yes. The younger children start performing the easier it becomes for them. Parents help assist in the Toddler Time Class performances. * What is the costume donation? This year we are asking our Cheer and Dance students to make a small donation towards costumes that will stay with the program and be used from year to year. The suggested amount is $15-35. * Do you allow siblings/students of different ages in the same class? Yes in some of our classes we offer a mixed age range. Gymnastics and Cheer are ideal to vary the age range. Having older and younger students involved in the same class has some advantages. When we have different age groups in the same class with 8 students or more in it, we can staff it with 2 coaches. The plan is to have 2 coaches involved if possible. If the group is small, and only one coach is available, then the students will get more one on one with the coach which is also a benefit. If we are able to open the class with both coaches teaching this is a benefit, since different coaches bring out different strengths in their students. This also allow for focus group training. Having focus groups also allows students to progress a little quicker. Having younger kids mixed in with the older students often helps the younger students excel a little quicker as well, as they look up to the older students. It is good training for older students to be role models for the younger students, since athletes & cheer leaders are role models for their teams, schools, and communities. And it is great for stunting and acrobatics as well. * Is there a contract? Yes. Gymnastics, Dance & Cheer are developmental sports. It takes time to build the core strength, flexibility, and endurance required to preform these skills safely. It is important for students to plan on spending time to not only develop these skills, but also to stay engaged in practices to avoid injury and regression. Consistent classes are the best environment to help students progress most quickly. We ask for a commitment to the term they select at registration. We have 3 options for registration: Full Year, School Year, & Summer. This gives you the best prices. If enrolled and for some reason you need to pull your children out early, please contact Mindy Sherrow and describe the reason for cancellation. We do not offer refunds. Monthly tuition is calculated at special pricing that does not allow for early cancellation. To qualify for this special pricing students need to plan to attend the entire season. If you need to attend less time then the season, then private lessons need to be considered and that pricing will be applied to these cases. There are also combination classes and other alternatives that can be considered when determining what is the best situation for your circumstances. It takes time to bond with students and help them achieve their full potential . We really enjoy having our students in classes and it is hard on the entire class when students are not committed and abandon classes early. It also takes time and expense to find new students mid-season, not to mention other challenges this presents for coaches in routines and choreography as we plan for the season. When enrolling please plan to attend and pay for the entire season. If you have special circumstances, we look forward to having you join our private lesson options. Private lesson do have some special packages when prearranged for and can be arranged by appointment as needed. Thank you. * Are there fees for cancelling? There will be no refunds made upon cancellation. 30 day notice is required, and if tuition has been approved for special pricing, then cancellation cannot be allowed prior to end of season. If Any exceptions will need to be approved through Mindy Sherrow. *What if classes are cancel then student wants to enroll again during the same session? If a student cancels, then wants to register again during the same session, this will be evaluated based upon reason for cancelling, and class availability. Students reregistering for classes will be treated as a new student and need to plan to pay registration. Any exceptions will need to be approved through Mindy Sherrow. |
